The William Munroe Special Collections is proud to announce the acquisition of several significant letters by Louisa May Alcott and two remarkable collections that deepen our understanding of the Alcott family.
Beginning January 13, 2026, Minuteman offers access to BostonGlobe.com and Boston Globe App for eligible Minuteman library patrons. The service offers users a 72-hour pass to all Globe subscriber content for up to 500 users at a time.
The Concord Free Public Library holds close-to-complete runs of all Concord, Massachusetts newspapers published from 1816 to the present time. We are excited to announce that, as of January 2026, over a dozen newspaper titles published through 2005 are now available digitally and keyword searchable! This includes 617 pages of the Middlesex Gazette(1816-1821), 2,654 pages of the Yeoman's Gazette (1826-1840), and 121,279 pages of The Concord Journal (1928-2005)!

With the support of the Concord Free Public Library Corporation and the generosity of its donors, the William Munroe Special Collections has acquired an unrecorded photograph of one of Concord's most famous residents, Ralph Waldo Emerson. The image is a circa-1860s carte-de-visite (CDV), a popular 19th-century format for small, card-mounted photographs the size of a calling card, taken from an original daguerreotype, the first widely used photographic method, circa-1848.
The 2025 Holiday Book Sale will take place in the Goodwin Forum of the Main Library on Friday & Saturday, December 5 & 6, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 7, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Come for your holiday shopping and have a fun time.
