This July, the Munroe Gallery at the Main Library welcomes Summer Memories, a solo exhibition by Massachusetts artist Lucinda Hamilton. On view from July 6 through July 30, the exhibition celebrates the landscapes, places, and moments that shape our most cherished memories. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The Library's Writer-in-Residence (WIR) Program is accepting applications. Apply and learn more here. Deadline is July 15. Residency period is January–June 2027. The WIR Program is intended to continue the Concord’s literary heritage, offering new ways to celebrate diverse voices and share stories through literary arts programming.
A life-size bronze sculpture of 19th-century literary figure and women's rights advocate Margaret Fuller has been donated to the Concord Free Public Library Corporation and will be unveiled to the public on May 23, 2026. The sculpture, created in 1985 by acclaimed American artist Penelope Jencks, reflects her distinguished career in public art, which includes works such as the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument at Riverside Park in New York City, a statue of the historian Samuel Eliot Morison on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, and a statue of Robert Frost at Amherst College, Amherst, Massachusetts.

Currently on display in the first-floor exhibition cases, the William Munroe Special Collections is pleased to present a selection of materials from the newly acquired Bicknell and Mather Alcott Family Collections, as well as items from its other Alcott holdings.
It seems fitting that, as we begin our celebration of the two new Alcott collections acquired by the Library's William Munroe Special Collections, the addition of more work by May Alcott Nieriker is a highlight among the acquisitions, and her work serves as one of the visual representations of these materials.
