Applications for 2027 Writer-in-Residence

APPLICATION FORM

The Writer-in-Residence Program offers a six-month residency from January to June to a poet, fiction writer, or creative nonfiction writer at the historic Concord Free Public Library (CFPL) in Concord, Massachusetts. The writer-in-residence is given a $10,000 stipend with the expectation that they will spend an average of eight hours a week at the library for the duration of the program and will develop public programming and social opportunities for the CFPL community.

The writer-in-residence is also offered a private office space in the library’s newly renovated historic wing and the opportunity to work with members of the CFPL staff, partner organizations, and local writers. Housing and transportation expenses are not covered. 

To apply to be the 2027 Writer-in-Residence, please submit an application and up to 10 pages of poetry or prose by July 15, 2026. There is no application fee. For questions about the residency program or application process, please contact Madeline Klein at mklein@minlib.net.
