  • Reading Dragons | Kids

Read and collect dragon trading cards for the opportunity to win prizes! You can evolve your dragon (or pick a new egg) for every two days you read this summer. Every time you evolve a dragon into an adult, you will earn a ticket for the Grand Prize Raffle! Sign up in-person at either library beginning Monday, June 9. Read. Hatch. Collect them all!

  • Library Level-Up | Teens

    Library Level-Up

Teen readers can earn raffle tickets for our main prizes by reading, but can also win special bonus prizes by participate in our weekly "boss battles," spinning the daily "random encounter" wheel, and unlocking achievements. See if you can top the leader board for a special grand prize!

    What is this?

It's a Summer Reading Club for teens only. Folks in grades 6th-12th can participate in this club, Reading Dragons, or both. It runs June 16th through August 22nd.

Why would I want to do this?

Well, reading is its own reward, but I will appeal to the greedy cynic in us all and say that you get raffle tickets for prizes.

    What Prizes?

We have gift cards to BestBuy, CVS, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target, Bedford Farms, Domino's Pizza, DoorDash, and Dunkin'. We also have a D&D bundle, Magic the Gathering bundle, a fruit candy bundle, and a chocolate candy bundle. We're also taking your suggestions!

How Do I Get Raffle Tickets?

A few easy ways: reading books, unlocking achievements, and potentially from the random encounter wheel. Then just report your progress on this Teen Summer Reading form so we know how many raffle tickets to give you.

What Books Do I Have to Read?

Any book that's appropriate for your reading level. No "See spot run" type books unless that's your wheelhouse. Audio books are ok too.

What is the Random Encounter Wheel?

Once per day you can try your luck at the main branch Teen room. Spin the wheel and you might win raffle tickets or prizes but, you might also suffer...misfortune. Take your chances.

    What are these Boss Battles?

Every week there'll be a different contests of skill or chance in the Teen room. The boss to beat: the Teen librarian. Defeat them for prizes and glory.

    What are these Achievements?

    • Show your Concord library card: Lost it? Don't have one? We can make you one for free, and you still get a ticket.
    • Write a book review: Read a particularly good/terrible book? Tell us about it in some detail and earn an extra ticket.
    • Library scavenger hunt: Find the weekly cursed image QR code hidden somewhere in the library and report it.
    • Attend a program: Show up at some of the fun stuff we do. Bonus tickets if you suggest a program and then we run it.
    • Be a good human: Do something nice for people in the room, volunteer somewhere, or help us clean up when needed.
    • Unlock all achievements: If you manage to do all of the above challenges and read at least one book, you get a bonus prize.
    • Top the leader board: Bonus grand prize to whoever reads the most books. The number to beat last year was 133.

When Do I Win this Stuff?

All raffle drawings are done at our Summer Reading Wrap Party on August 22nd. You don't have to be there to win.

  • Choose-Your-Own Reading Adventure | Adults

You have enough rules in your life - this summer, Choose-Your-Own Reading Adventure!

During each visit to the Library, share what you have read, watched, or listened to recently for a chance to win one of our weekly drawings for gift cards to local businesses. Thank you to the generous Concord businesses who donated prizes this year!
