The Williams Scholarship Committee, an initiative of the Concord Free Public Library Corporation, is now accepting scholarship applications from college-bound High School Seniors residing in Concord, MA for The Charles Williams Scholarship for Excellence in Music and The Charles Williams Scholarship for Excellence in the Visual Arts. The Friends of the Concord Free Public Library presented an online piano recital with Tanya Bartevyan on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a discussion on Zoom. The program included selections from Chopin Waltzes and Etudes, Schubert Impromptus, and an improvisation on an Armenian song created in the moment. Friday Flicks at Fowler is now called Films at Fowler and the format has changed accordingly. Because we cannot meet at Fowler Library in person in 2021, we will now watch - on your own schedule - selected movies on Kanopy, a free streaming service available to Library patrons. We will then gather on Zoom on scheduled evenings for a lively movie discussion. The theme of the movies this year is Movies Are Your Passport. All six movies are set in a foreign location and culture that has a strong influence in the film.
