Leslie Riedel Memorial Lecture for Young People: Andrew Clements - Cancelled

The annual Leslie Riedel Memorial Lecture for Young People will present children's author Andrew Clements on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Library Rotunda.  The event is free and open to all. Past speakers of the series include children's authors/illustrators David Macaulay, Chris Van Allsburg, Jerry Pinkney, Lois Lowry, Tomie dePaola, Grace Lin, Katherine Paterson and Kate DiCamillo.  We are very sorry but this event has been cancelled.

The Festival will present its popular finale Mystery Night on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Periodical Room featuring three mystery writers Connie Hambley (The Wake: When Truth Won’t Die), Elisabeth Elo (Finding Katarina M.), and Tilia Klebenov Jacobs (Second Helpings at the Serve Your Right Cafe), moderated by Kate Flora! The event is free and open to all.

Poetry at the Library Series presents Poetry of Revelations with Translations from the Japanese on Sunday, October 6, 2019, 3:00 p.m. at the Main Library. Poet-translator Patrick Donnelly reads from two of his acclaimed recent collections and Stephen D. Miller, Japanese language and literature scholar, reads award-winning translations (done with Donnelly) of  Buddhist poems from the Heian Period. Sponsored by The Friends of the Concord Free Public Library. Open to all.
