Todd Nathan Thompson, author of The National Joker: Abraham Lincoln and the Politics of Satire, will give a talk on April 20, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Periodical Room of the Main Library. Thompson is an associate professor of English at Indiana University, and the author of articles in Nineteenth-Century Prose: ESQ: A Journal of the American Renaissance; Early American Literature; and Journal of American Culture.
