The 2017 Ruth Ratner Miller Award

The 2017 Ruth Ratner Miller Award for Excellence in American History will be presented to Pulitzer Prize recipient Gordon S. Wood, author of upcoming Friends Divided: John Adams and Thomas Jefferson on Saturday, October 28, 7:30 p.m. in the Main Library Rotunda.  Tickets are available at the Main Library and the Concord Bookshop.  Adults $15, Students $5.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library.

Gordon S. Wood is the Alva O. Way University Professor and Professor of History Emeritus at Brown University, and the recipient of the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for History for The Radicalism of the American Revolution. His book The Creation of the American Republic, 1776–1787 won a 1970 Bancroft Prize. In 2010 he was awarded the National Humanities Medal.
