Meet Lauren Tarshis, Author of I Survived: Riedel Award for Excellence in Children’s Literature

Author Lauren Tarshis will be honored with the 13th annual Leslie Riedel Award for Excellence in Children’s Literature for her impressive body of literary work for young people. This event will include a presentation by the author with a signing to follow. At the signing, there will be an opportunity to purchase books from our partners at the Concord Bookshop.

About Lauren Tarshis

Lauren Tarshis is an American author of children's books, with several series of fiction, non-fiction and historical fiction works found in thousands of libraries and translated into several languages. She is best known as the author of the New York Times bestselling series I Survived. The books, fast-paced historical fiction for kids in grades 3–5, focus on historical disasters from the perspective of a boy or girl who lived to tell the tale. She has been selected for the Riedel award for her extraordinary facility in inspiring reluctant young readers and budding history buffs alike.

The Riedel Award was created in memory of Leslie Riedel by her family and friends so that young people could meet some of their favorite authors.
