Published by Henry L. Whitcomb of Concord, this early twentieth century colored postcard incorporates the evocative image of the active hotel of the late 1860s. Whitcomb was a newsdealer, stationer, and seller of books, fancy goods, sheet music, and souvenirs on Main Street in the 1890s and early 1900s.

By the time this postcard was printed, the Middlesex Hotel had been demolished.
