Gertrude Todd, 1884.29. Gertrude Todd, 1884. From a mounted albumen print (source undiscovered).

Born in 1867, Gertrude Todd—daughter of printer Thomas Todd and his wife Rebecca Wheeler Todd—was an early member of the Concord Musical Club and a charter member of the Ladies' Tuesday Club and the Old Concord Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Just sixteen when this photograph was taken, she displays in her posture and her cool, appraising gaze a degree of self-possession unusual in one her age.

In 1911, at forty-three, Gertrude Todd married George H. Muirhead of Brantford, Ontario and moved away from Concord. She returned here after her husband's death. Mrs. Muirhead died in 1957.
