26. Concord’s Mill Dam; Main Street looking East, 1955
This panoramic image, taken by Philip Vanderhoof, shows the Mill Dam as it looked in 1955. Anderson’s Market can be seen at the far left, sporting a neon sign. An awning shades the sidewalk above merchandise displayed at the entrance to the building.
At about this time, prior to opening Anderson Photo in its present location on Walden Street in 1954, Bill Anderson (one of Leslie and Esther Anderson’s sons) used the second floor of the Main Street building for his photography studio and dark room.
