Concord, September 10th, 1875
A special meeting of the Corporation was held this evening at the house of Mr. William Munroe to which members of the Town Library Committee were invited. All the members of the Corporation were present, and Messrs. Emerson, Tolman and King of the Library Committee. The meeting was called on the suggestion of Mr. Munroe to look over the plans which he had had prepared with a view to the future enlargement of the Library and establishment of an Art Museum. After some time pleasantly and profitably spent in studying the plans, Mr. Munroe presented them to the Corporation with his wishes in writing, concerning them. The President gratefully accepted the same in behalf of the Corporation and the plans were put into the custody of the Treasurer, for safe keeping. The meeting then adjourned.
