Broadside advertisement for The Thoreau Quarterly, including illustration (a word portrait of Thoreau by John Sokol).  From the CFPL Broadside and Poster Collection.  Gift of Dale Schwie, 2006.

Edited by John M. Dolan and published between 1982 and 1985, The Thoreau Quarterly—successor to the Thoreau Journal Quarterly (1969-1981)—is today difficult to find in full runs.  The Concord Free Public Library has a near-complete set.

This publicity poster is the work of artist John Sokol, who is known for his “word portraits.”
