ORGANIZATION: Two series: I. RiverFest (1961-2013); II. Riverwatch Program (1991-2006).

HISTORY: The Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord River Stewardship Council was founded in 1999 to promote the long term protection of the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord River Basin, often working as an advisor to the National Park Service. The Council organizes RiverFest to raise awareness of environmental concerns and conservation efforts; and the River Stewardship Awards, in tandem with the League of Women Voters, as an opportunity to honor those who have made substantial contributions to environmental sustainability in the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord River Basin.

SCOPE AND CONTENT: Organic collection of the records of River Stewardship Award Nominating Committees, 1961-2013 (bulk 2002-2013), consisting of correspondence, promotional material, newspaper clippings, printouts, photographic prints, meeting minutes and agendas, reports, and notes, among other materials, with annotations by Debbie Barr, Betsy Sluder et al. (handwritten and typed).
